Saddam May Run for President
Printable Version | [eMail this article!] |Well wouldn't this be a true irony if Saddam Hussein runs for President of Iraq and Wins? Outrageous you say? Well according to Zaman Online, Saddam is planning to Declare his Candidacy for the Iraqi Elections (thanks to Information Clearing House for this one). Given what has been going down in Iraq, a number of Iraqi's may feel a bit nostalgic about Hussein. It would be beyond ironic, if after the destruction of a nation and the deaths of tens of thousands that Iraq reelected Hussein.

However, the outrage would be that the US invaded and decimated a nation on some whispering in the ear and visions of grateful peoples throwing flowers and handing us barrels of oil. It would be a damning statement that they might prefer Hussein to a US puppet government and a sham democracy.
