What Will Bush Do?

Is anyone else nervous about what the Bush cabal may do if they feel that their grip on power is threatened?

This has not been a good year for Mr. Bush and crew. The lies, deceptions, secrecy, and the fallout of the neo-con agenda have been coming home to hatch. There is increasing pressure for accountability for the consequences of this agenda which has resulted in death, destruction, and hardship.

I, personally, am very concerned about the "next moves" of a group that has shown no hesitation to lie, deceive, and utilize the resources of the nation for their own personal and political agenda. They have successfully taken control of every branch of government. This has served to both facilitate the agenda, and to buffer and protect the Administration from accountability. Now, even some of the "followers" seem nervous about how far things have gone towards a totalitarian state.

The Congress has rested tremendous powers and resources in the hands of Bush. During the reign of this crew, he has been given the power to engage in preemptive war; utilize nuclear, biological, chemical, and other new weapons. He has stated a policy of utilizing torture, which even now has not been withdrawn. He has successfully stolen two presidential elections with no consequences. He has overseen the widest misuse of government funds resulting in the largest deficit in U.S. history with little challenge to the diversion of tax dollars into the hands of the rich and the corporate. He has successfully, muzzled the press in most circumstances.

In other words, "the cabal" has been very successful in gathering the reins of control of the United States into their hands. Do you really think they will quietly release them back to the people and the Constitutional balance of powers? Do you think that standing on the brink of the desired world domination, they will just step back from decades of maneuvering which brought them to this point?

This is an administration that has been remarkably successful at controlling the message and diverting attention from both "uncomfortable" situations, and its questionable actions. Would they manufacture disaster to retain power? I have little doubt that they would. Others have said that we are one disaster away from the loss of democracy in the United States. I am concerned that may be an accurate assessment, and that the Bush administration has done all within their power to set up the final coup de tat.

The case for the next war has been laid with a multiplicity of possible targets - Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Venezuela to name a few. Then there is the "threat" of "terrorism" on U.S. soil. Now, the move is on for use of the U.S. military to enforce quarantines and respond to disaster - any situation where martial law might be declared.

I believe the soil has been well prepared for the internal overthrow of the United States. I fear that a group with apparently no ethical qualms, committed to an "end justifies the means" strategy, are committed enough to their "vision" that any means to ensure that end are acceptable. I hope that my concerns are baseless. I fear that they are not.
