Christian Soldiers Part III

Well, more and more folks are taking notice in the change in tenor and rhetoric of the presentations of President Bush. Now even the Christian nets are starting to wonder. Check out this article at BeliefNet An Evolving Faith: Does the president believe he has a divine mission?.

I think we are all in trouble is he believes he does.

"When the people ultimately see that Bush comes to us representing War, not Peace, then we will know for sure he is not an instument of the Creator, but of the Devil."

Has there ever in history been a nation who has believed itself divinely guided who has not engaged in war? Can we begin to make the connection between religion and conquest? I'm not talking about personal faith in peace and justice and unity, I'm talking about religious fervour that denies humanity in favour of a patriarchal "god". When in history has a nation not engaged in righteous conquest over a perceived infidel/heathen? No white nation that has aligned itself with religious ideology can claim to have existed without waging war on someone, including the indigenous people of the land they colonised....
