Finally some good news

Hey folks,
While you are contacting your Senatorsasking them to block a number of initiatives and approvals, you can finally give them a pat on the back for something.

They have approved an amendment (100 of them) to block funding for the Total Information Awareness program (thru the Pentagon) until the Pentagon provides information on how our civil liberties will be protected.

My guess is that it was folks like us contacting our representatives which helped shift the monolith.

Kudos to Ron Wyden (OR) and Charles Grassley (Iowa) for sponsoring the amendment.
