Should anyone be interested in the policies behind - or concurrent with - the Bush "religious" agenda, you should check out the website for The Project for the New American Century. Of particular interest will be the "Statement of Principles", a conservative think tank that includes: Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush, Donald Kagan and other familiar names. Their stated aims include increasing defense spending to "challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values" and accepting "responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles". This is pretty serious stuff, and they have a lot of "letters to the President" posted that outline their agenda clearly. Marry their "ideals" to an apocalyptic zealoutry, and one wonders at what point the tide will turn....
