Missiles and Shell Casings Are Not The Only Use For Depleted Uranium

This falls into the MUST READ category.

10/22/04 Bollyn, American Free Press, Depleted Uranium Released During Canadian Plane Crash - Little-Known Use of DU in Commercial Jets Exposed.

Yes indeed, depleted uranium is being used as counter-weight material in commercial 747s. In fact, up to 3,300 pounds of the radioactive material may be used. Pause, take a breath. What crashed into the World Trade Center buildings? Yes.

Christopher Bollyn has written a startling article on the use of depleted uranium in commercial aircraft. This is a critical article and a critical piece of information.

The release of up to 6,600 pounds of oxidized depleted uranium in the middle of NY City is BIG news. While it has been reported that most of the thousands of workers at "Ground Zero" were sick (and well they might from inhaling toxic chemicals), many are still sick. How far did those clouds of dust and ash go? How would such a dispersion of DU affect a broader population? Is anybody monitoring the overall health of New Yorkers? Probably not since funds for tracking those at ground zero are virtually non-existent.

Cheney keeps running around talking about "dirty bombs" in population centers. Well, isn't 3,330 pounds of depleted uranium exploded on impact a form of "dirty bomb?" We already know the longer term effects of the DU arsenal - cancer and birth defects due to ongoing exposure to radiation. True, the Pentagon refuses to admit the danger of depleted uranium which it uses extensively.

The Bollyn article could easily slip totally unnoticed. I encourage you to read it, and pass it on.
