Full Text of 18 Minute bin Laden Tape

The National Business Review has the 18 minute transcript of bin Laden's latest tape. If you want to compare transcripts, Al Jazeera has another full transcript. The NBR says that Al Jazeera edited the transcript and it leaves out parts. Namely:

Among the key lines omitted by al Jazeera was a general threat of on-going warfare: "We want to restore freedom to our Nation and just as you lay waste to our Nation, so shall we lay waste to yours."

Perhaps more significant were several long passages in which bin Laden rejoices in the economic costs of the war to America -- and identifies Iraq as a key aspect of al Qaeda's strategy to force the American economy into bankruptcy.

It's almost like they have a common goal of bankrupting the country. I think we need to develop a new strategy based on less is more...perhaps they should look to the Taoists for an answer.
