Condoleeza Rice Passed by Committee

The committee voted 16 to 2 to approve Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State today. The two dissenting votes were from John Kerry and Barbara Boxer. Go Barbara, and I'm glad Kerry finally found some backbone. The transcript of today's session is illuminating. The confirmation of Rice will now move to the full Senate. There is no more doubt that she will be confirmed there than that she would not make it past the committee.

I watched the "hearing" and I was amazed how many Senator use this as a stage to somehow justify their actions in a positive vote for Iraq. For the most part it was business as usual, basically pathetic.
