I am so glad to hear about the avid participation in the peace marches and vigils--I suspected there would be a vigorous voice of protest.

I'm not surprised to hear about Cindy Sheehan's arrest, this seems to be the response to articulate activists in this country. This is intimidation and a continuation of the curious lack of respect for civil rights I see happening under this administration.

Yesterday Portland held an impromptu Blues Festival featuring several musicians from New Orleans. It was an amazing event, full of giving from all sides. In the end I am quite sure they met or exceeded their goal of $100,000 for Katrina via the Oregon Food Bank.

It's all about grass roots efforts ...
