According to a report in the August 11, 2006 BBC, the Greenland ice sheet is "speeding up." Using a calculation that measures earth's gravity and mass, researchers at the University of Texas at Austin have determined that the ice sheet is now melting three times faster than reported earlier. I would venture a guess that these are not the only sheets melting away at an even more alarming rate. The heat waves make me more nervous as time goes on. Feels as though that final catastrophe is lurking in the background like a stalker that just doesn't get the hint to back off.
