National Boycott to Impeach Bush
A national coalition called We're Not Buying It is calling for a week long national boycott from April 15th (tax day) to April 22 (Earth Day). The National Coordinator is Lew Brown, and one of the primary organizers is sociologist Peter Phillips of Project Censored fame. He has also written a book, Impeach the President: The Case Against Bush and Cheney" with Peter Loo.
The Top 5 Charges (from We're Not Buying It)
1. Boldly lying to Congress to start the war in Iraq
2. Signing statements as an illegal expansion of Executive power.
3. Authorizing the use of torture in violation of the Geneva Convention.
4. Authorizing the intelligence community to spy on American citizens without due process.
5. Failure to respond to warnings from the intelligence community about the 9/11 attacks.
6. Failure to respond to warnings regarding imminent levee failure in New Orleans, and grossly mishandling emergency response to Hurricane Katrina; costing the lives and property of thousands.
The boycott will take some preparation on our parts, but if successful, will send a message politicians and their corporate supporters alike. I encourage you to participate and to spread the word.
