Disgarace of a Nation
On February 18,2007 the Washington Post published an article by Dana Priest and Anne Hull titled Soldiers Face Neglect, Frustration At Army's Top Medical Facility. The publication of that article created a white flash of light on yet another shame for the United States.
Walter Reed, the crown jewel of the VA system, was keeping injured veterans in nightmare conditions. We are told the deplorable conditions are partially attributable to five years of steady use by those injured in the US "war on terror." Is that even reasonable? Do you get mouse turds and dead cockroaches because of "steady use" - or "steady neglect?" I believe the latter. What is even more disingenuous is the response to the report - investigations and swift action.
To hear the folks from the (VA and Gates, Bush, Congress people, everyone asked) no one knew anything. If this level of neglect can go unnoticed less than a 30 minute drive from the White House, then what about beyond that? Is it even reasonable that everyone knew nothing?
I am sick of the bull. If any of them were so willing to take "swift action," then they wouldn't have needed a journalist's article to get them off the mark. If they cared at all, there would be nothing to expose. So the time is well passed for swiftness.
We also get the proverbial "investigations" to string out the issue until everyone forgets, or figures "surely that is fixed now."
Oh yeah. We have full confidence that now that their noses have been rubbed in the shameful treatment of wounded forces that they will clean up their act. Sure they will.

Here's a thought...appoint Max Cleland and Chuck Hagel as co-chairs of a task force they alone may populate, give them one month to have this group assembled and at work on creating policy to deal with all that is wrong at the back end of the warmongering imperialists' "ingenious visions and implementations for conquest of the known universe and their ultimate Goldfinger-control of all it's resources and populations to the advancement of their furtherance at our cost, INCLUDE AMONG THEIR POWERS THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL CONNECTED BUDGETARY DECISIONS, FUNDING OF SUCH, AND ONGOING OVERSIGHT OF SAID, and at the end of two months, whatever Chuck and Max have come up with WILL BECOME OFFICIAL POLICY FROM HELL TO ETERNITY, TO BE IIMPLEMENTED WITH FULL ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF CONGRESS AND THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH BY EIGHT O'CLOCK THE NEXT MORNING, EST...or everything stops militarily world wide..everyone comes home from everywhere, and all materials and supplies are destroyed or returned to the soil of the US by year's end! Corporate employees everywhere in foreign lands currently being infiltrated by our evangelical merchant mentality bent on ultimately corroding all other cultures and remodeling them in the image of US Imperialism and Colonialism, can fend for themselves if locals get pissy! If the lives of our children are not going to be treated with utmost respect, then no one is going to USE AND ABUSE them to futher their private agendas in the name of "Patriotiotic Duty," "Service," and "Sacrifice," DAMNIT!!
Where did Messers. Rumsfeld, Bush, Cheney, think all of the wounded would go ? Did it occur to anyone when you start a war, that you might have wounded to take care of? Where are all of the flag-waving, Support the Troops crowd now ?
I would also add Bob Kerry the former wounded Navy Seal to the committee of Hagel and Cleland.
This is deja vu all over again and it is outrageous !

I would even add, we are not supposed to come back and turn into Jiminy Cricket. We are supposed to die so we can become names on a list of martyrs to inspire other kids to want to be "Heroes." When this doesn't turn out to be the case, they are limited in responses they have programmed into their matrix. First they presume to be unaware. Then they deny, because there is "no scientific foundation." Then after a whole lot of struggle and unnecessary pain, their minions assert they have always been on our side and we should trust them, while in fact, behind the scenes we are used statistically and otherwise to assist the psychopaths in figuring out how to achieve their original goals most cleanly so there isn't this by product of distressed souls with integrity and a memory long enough to actually know what "Duty, Honor, Service, and Whatever" mean; who seek daily through their tears to achieve any small degree of it in any way possible. While we are creating this dream team, lets throw in Bobby Muller, Kevin Binderman, and Eerin Watada. Far out!
