Rowan's Excellent Adventure - Day 5

Well today was my presentation. After much angst and cutting and cutting to get under the time limit, I finally did my presentation. Of course I wasn't even 2/3 of the way through when I got the five minute warning. I skimmed a bunch of stuff, but highlighted the most important points. It was apparently well received from the feedback I have received from other Tableites. I don't think that all of them were just being polite.

After lunch, I was to go on a museum tour. Unfortunately I laid down to take a nap and they left without me. When I got up, I decided to find a rare book dealer who was supposed to be in the area. I found the shop (Jericho Books) but it was closed. Of course, there was no "be back at," or the hours of operation. I'll check back tomorrow I guess. It is about 8 blocks from where I am staying. However, on the walk there were some interesting sights.

I thought this was quite a nice crest.

And this one made me smile.

The Brits are security conscious, and apparently have been so for a while. These little devices scream damage to cat burglars

Now perhaps you recall the earlier warning of automatically raising Bollards in the road. There are a number of interesting signs here, and this is another one.

Now, I have read about the hedgehog crossings, but the Humped Zebra is a breed with which I am unfamiliar. I looked down the street for any roaming free, or even penned, but didn't see them. Perhaps they travel primarily at dawn and dusk. I will certainly keep an eye out for them in my wanderings. I hope those blasted bollards don't get them.
