Go Kucinich

Dennis4President.com

I watched the CNN Democratic Debate the other night. Don't worry, I am not going to give yet another analysis. I supported Kucinich in 2004, and I still support him. It is really frustrating that he gets so little media coverage. His pushing for the impeachment of Cheney was virtually blacked out. As is his Constitutional Initiative Convention.

I was lucky enough to get to watch the floor action on HR 333 (Kucinich's impeachment initiative) on CSPAN. That dramatic move got no coverage by the corporate press. I have also watched most of the debates, where Kucinich (along with most outside the circle of Clinton and Obama) have gotten little air time. This silencing means that the people just don't know what Kucinich is doing. Further, what that media did cover was his statement that he had seen a UFO. That was clearly an effort to make him seem looney - just in case any in the masses happened to catch something more substantive of what he has been doing.

Kucinich is doing a virtual town hall meeting every week until the end of January as a Constitutional Convention Initiative.

The New Constitutional Convention Initiative will include a a series of nationally broadcast discussions (via www.kucinichtv.com) that seek to accomplish three (sic) outcomes:

  1. Outline the ongoing assaults on the Constitution

  2. An educational component / civics lesson to clarify the intent of the framers and provide a foundation for understanding the ongoing assaults on the Constitution

  3. Discuss in detail what can be done collectively and individually to restore crucial constitutional principles

  4. Provide a venue which will lead to a coordinated and sustained national effort to renew the Constitution and restore accountability in government

The New Constitutional Convention Initiative will hold a national conference call each week for the next 10 weeks - culminating in a major event at the end of January. A complete list of dates, panel participants and moderators, and topics / themes for each week, will be made available in the next week and distributed to anyone interested in participating.

I encourage everyone to sign up, even if you are not a Kucinich supporter. I believe that Kucinich is sincere in his effort to encourage grassroots democratic participation.

Go to the above site and you can see exactly how many minutes each candidate spoke.

Dennis was last with 5 minutes and a few seconds.

I am also a supporter of Kucinich.

Another Kucinich supporter here. And, damn it all, this time 'round I am going to write him in on the ballot if he is not on it. I am tired of 2nd bests and the lesser of 2 evils which allow absolutely no change to ever happen. He was great at the GW Forum, too. No one more intelligent, more passionate, more on-the-issues, and more honest than this unsung hero. He's a tough scrappy little guy with the will to make real change and I hope with all my heart that a miracle happens and he wins the WH.
