Obama 08

This was the best speech I have ever heard from a politician. It was perhaps the best speech I have heard addressing issues of race that I have heard.

I must say that I was not offended by Wright's sermons. I am disturbed that so many thought they were offensive and anti-American - apparently including Obama. But then I don't consider holding our nation to a high standard and telling the truth to be "unAmerican." Apparently the is not generally the case.

I had hoped that we were moving out of the era where we cannot palate the truth of American history and international policy. Apparently not.

Regardless, Obama did a masterful job of addressing race, and a number of other issues. I guess the polls will tell whether even talking about race is too much for some folks.

Barak is a fool and a tool, and he proved that today. It's amusing to see his numbers plummet so fast, and now we see McCain out polling him by a significant margin. Thank you Barak! It is clear that Barak has just killed any chance he had at winning the general election. It's all down the drain because he insisted on spending 20 years taking spiritual advice from a raving racist who is a horrible speaker to boot. What a nutjob!

Gerald, somehow I think you are uniquely qualified to judge Obama a fool and a tool.

The following comment was sent to me and the person wishes to remain anonymous. I have edited the comment to remove identifying information.

"comments like "Gerald's" and his friend represent something like seventy to less than thirty percent of popular polling attitudes about Obama's speech, in which he demonstrated his own personal spinelessness to stand up to these nazis. This is how Hillary is going to usher in business as usual in the format of Spineless Democratic bullshit! And how Democrats are going to lose another pseudo struggle for the good by trying to out Republican the Republicans.

Systemically brainwashed white racists have no recourse but declare Blacks and minorities Racists, in order to defend what they consider to be their honor. A rat will attack a Tiger if cornered, because there is no where else to go!

No one wants to withstand eight more years or even four of the persecutions visited on the Clinton's or entertain the grotesque stupidity in the contrast between the evils of a guy stupid enough to have affairs and gropings of subordinates, convicted of lying to hide such an infinitesimal a moral crime if every there was one, who merely tries to hide them, vs a guy who is a vindictive, stupid, underachieving first son of an over achieving psychopathic father, who is witless and sycophantic when it comes to sacrificing his children on the alter of POWER...THE REVERSE OF ABRAHAM! Certainly the Christian motif, if honesty means anything!

For Obama to disavow agreement with his Pastor on the points that have inspired him, that this is a society fraught with systemic "white" racism, and responsible by virtue of its decades, and actually its heir's centuries of desecration of the feelings of peoples it considers in need of it's salvation army's murders of millions upon millions of those who simply do not agree or who are ignorant of the high rewards of bliss waiting if only they would embrace "The Lord.", makes him just another cheap self absorbed politician compromising in order to get to where he can further compromise us all to death!

I am still not accepting that the horrible depression causing discrepancy between my following what I have been called to say and what I have the courage to say is the primary source of my Depression that has wrecked my life... No one who has said the truth has ever been successful, so I don't see the point, yet I continually let down those who have glimpsed who I am and what I must do, because I want a life of my own, damn it. Eastern Orthodoxy embraces this struggle, but not western psychos. Nicos Kazandzakis understood it completely.

Don't these dildos ask themselves if this is such a free country, why is this the first time a Black man and A woman have actual potential to be nominated by one of the two halves of the single party system, that is of course NOT biased..."

I presume you think I am Gerald's friend.
Apparently my attempt at glib, sarcastic, wit was not successful.

Also for the record I supported a black woman that made a bid for the Presidents position, her name was Shirley Chisholm.

I send money to and support Obama, I thought his speech was outstanding and from my perspective he stood by Rev. Wright, maybe I should listen for about tenth time, because I thought Obama showed real leadership.

I too, would like to see a woman in office, as an old supporter of the ERA, I have long supported equal rights and equal pay.

I also want more blacks on the supreme court; however, no more Clarence Thomas and his ilk.

Back to Gerald, I was subtly implying that if Gerald thinks Obama is a fool and a tool, perhaps Gerald's perspective is also that of a fool and a tool.

Last, I am glad you decided to comment and I actually think we have a lot in common: Freedom of Speech also means Freedom to disagree.
